As
a council member, it has continued as my guide. For
example, when the El Camino Merchant's Association
needed help with the median reopening, I worked with
them and City staff to get it done. And when residents
on Greenwood needed help with creek flooding, I helped
them get results and stop the flooding.
My
last campaign called for Open Government. Today we
have an extensive Web site, televised meetings and
the time for public comment early on the agenda.
I
campaigned for what I coined Smart Development. We
adopted design guidelines for downtown and are soon
to do the same for multi-family residential development.
For
the future, I look forward to working with our newly
hired City Manager and a new Council.
First and foremost,
contracting issues, as pointed out in the 04/05 Civil
Grand Jury Report, still need addressing. (Click here to

Second,
is South County Fire. New leadership
in San Carlos and Belmont offers the opportunity to
keep South County Fire intact. (Click here to
learn more).
 Without
using eminent domain, we need to focus on economic
development, particularly for South Laurel and the
east side.
